hey there bully owners,

so my male bully will be 3 years in a month. He's been house broken since he was 6-8 mo's old. Even when he needs to go out in the morning he'll moan and grown till i wake up to let him out. Well since a few weeks ago during the evenings he'll just go in the house. I'll be home and walk upon it and see it, or find it cause he'll be in the bedroom or in his crate even when i call him just to check up on him. Today i was sitting there doing some work just 4 feet from me he goes #2. He didnt make a single noise or bother to attent to let me know he wants to go out cause he was sitting there slee ping next to me feet. He got up walked away and then i heard his little nails scattering across the wood floors to the room so i look over cause i thought something might have spooked him, and found he went on the rug. I dont get why he's been doing this behavior. He was so good til recently. At first i thought it was accidents but its accurring over and over. the first two times i was absent for 2 hours or so but this time he did it right then and there.

Stephen,

There are SO many more tips or suggestions, but try by reinforcing the things you did when you first house trained him. (treats when he goes outside, etc) Could it be that he is doing it for your attention?

Since he is going poo in the house, too, I would guess that it's behavior and not a urinary tract infection or something.

Good luck!

Amber

Is it cold there? That may be why. One of my bully girls is like that, she doesn't like to "go" outside when it's cold, so she'll kindly leave me a present on the floor.

We call that the "Princess Syndrome" lol My dogs are like that when the weather is nasty out. They run out, do a half squat, & run back in then 10min later we ether find a log or puddle or they're scratching at the back door to go back out. I usually have to stand out there with them & make sure they do both while we're out there. I have to be firm & tell them several times "No! You get out there & finish your business!" If they refuse to go, they get put into there crate when we get back in & we try again later. The next time they're usually more than willing to do their business outside. Don't know if that helps you or not. Bullies have short coats & get cold easily. I have Whippets too & they are every bit as bad about the weather.... If not worse!

Has there been any recent changes in the household or in your normal routine? Have you had him in to see the vet? You want to rule out any health issues as well.

Good luck!

Would he tolerate a jacket or sweater? Their coats are so short, if you're cold out there they will be too. I'd try finding him a warm jacket, if he will wear one. & watch him to make sure he is going. They're lil' stinkers!!! biggrin

i am needing some advice on this subject...

our girl is almost 8months old now, an it took us longer to train her the outside rule than it took our other English bull, he learned it in a day. but she did get it in the end. now though for the last month or so she just seems to not care where she does it as long as its not outside _cursing

i'm getting really frustrated and stuck now though as she is getting worse, like for the last two days she's actually been doing it on the floor while the back door has been wide open for her !!

she's knows that it is wrong and unacceptable because when she has done it she tries to hide in her bed an pretend that I cant see her. iv'e tried a few things to stop her and sort of re-train her, told her off for it, that doesn't work as she is quite touchy an can become extremely nervous which is not what i want. iv'e tried making a big deal of it an saying good girl when she does go outside, leaving back door open so she wouldn't have to wait till I do open it. used treats, an have spent hours giving her my attention in case it was just an attention thing but as i said she is getting worse now so it cannot be any of the reasons I am thinking.

help...
