I give my dog a great food "Super Premium", a multivatamin, and also some fruit . Do you think it's also  necessary to give him calcium separately too?
The Veterinary said that if he has too much calcium may not grow more.

In case you stay with his dry food, don't give him extra calcium. Too much calcium can cause health problems like allergies, not yet but when he grows up. Think of a wolf pack: youngsters and adults eat (almost) the same stuff, there is no extra source of calcium for the youngsters :-)

Good afternoon,
I have a doubt about the change in his teeth that is happening now.
The milk teeth are dropping and the final ones are coming.
I am now giving him big-boned beef,is it ok to do this while his teeth are growing ?Is there any risk for him to broke the final teeth?

Help me please

Thanks good2

Bones, raw meat, green tripe is the best your food is desperately dry, to be honest. Tape his ears until now, they are very heavy, its not as if their registration can do damage if done correctly.

Hello,

chicken portions , like the neck? I always heard that chicken bones are very dangerous to dogs becuase they can lodge in the throat and choke.

about pork ribs, the raw pork is not bad because of bacteria which can pass to the dog?

Bones are only dangerous if cooked.Large portions, such as chicken legs etc are best.

You can freeze pork ribs for 24 hours before feeding if you are worried, thats what i do,though i've never had a problem by feeding them without freezing first.

Dogs fed on raw can handle bacteria, they are used to doing so.
By the way, there have been many cases of salmonella etc, caused by contaminated dried food.

Chicken bones are ok as long as they are raw & very fresh. I find the wings are better than the necks because they chew them a little more.

Pork bones, well some won't let their dogs touch em with a barge pole and others say it's ok. The old story about worms in the meat & bacteria don't hold true any more as long as you use bones from animals that have been killed for human consumption - and of course fresh & raw.

If you have a problem with pork, then try lamb ribs (raw & meaty). It goes without saying that dogs should always be supervised whilst eating bones, and raw bones should never just be left hanging around once the dog has finished with them. If he's had enough, then take the bones away & throw them in the trash.

Alot of people seem to be paranoid about feeding pork, Zeus^ may be referring to Trichinella, a type of roundworm that has been found in pork & other meats. (there is a good thread about this subject but I cant find it).
These days not common in the western world because of slaughter house inspection programs inspecting for Trichinella.
Our dogs have been fed meaty pork bones for years with no problems.
I have never found the need to do this but If your worried you can freeze any meat or bones for a few days as it will kill the parasite.

Yes, the fear of pork is largely an obsolete one. Years (& years) ago pork was often infected in this way; it was ok for humans because we cook the meat & that kills the parasite, but if you gave it raw to dogs they could develop it. Now, vertainly in the UK this worm is never found in meat for human consumption.

Whatever raw we feed our dogs, a rule of thumb should be if it isn't fit for humans, is it fit for our dogs? The only exception I should think would be frozen dog food as freezing also kills the worms.
