Does anyone use homeopathy on their dogs? I think I will try this in addition to regular vet treatments.

It was suggested that I try some Calendula ointment on Spike's sores...has anyone tried this? I will be researching more online, just wanted to see if anyone here as experience directly related with bull terriers.

We also use homeopathic treatments when nessecary, diarrhea par example. Calendula helps with scratches, so I would give it a try with Spike's sores.

I have used aromatic oils with great success. The practitioner allows dog to sniff essential oils and depending on reaction then makes up bottles of various oils for the dog to sniff or lick. It works on the premise that in the wild animals will eat plants that they know will help them. Check out www.ingraham.co.uk for more information.

I have just started Lola on Homeopathic remedies for her skin and I have high hopes. My vet told me that "if I didnt want to use cortisone then he couldnt help me" but I was adamant not to go that route and luckily found a reputable pet homeopath close by. I will definitely keep you up to date.

it is very difficolt to continue antibiotic treatment that is usually very intensive....and also homeopathy ...but if you are considering homeopathy to put directly on sores then i suggest you use calendular powder on sticky wet sores not cream.......if you have a homeopathic farmacy close or use one via post ask them to add arnica to the powder or cream .

There is a list of homoeopathic vets available fro the British homoeopathic Society. All homoeopathic vets are obviously trained vets first who then add homoeopathy after they have qualified

Lola and Diesel have been on their homeopathic course for two weeks now. Lola had rashes of hard raised lumps under her skin that were slowly spreading over her body and she scratched and bit continuously to bleeding point. Diesel itched like a maniac. Both dogs were over-sensitive to grass. And carpets. And dust. Our homeopath said it was more than likely caused by their puppy shots and an immune system under strain, not being able to cope. In the last two weeks Lola's rash has subsided remarkably (thanks to her teeny tiny tablets, an immunity juice and body spray) and although she does still get rashes and itches from being on the grass it is nothing compared to before and Diesel hardly scratches at all now.

I suppose it helps that neither one has had a cortisone shot (despite being recommended as the "only way" by our dear vet) as well as being raw fed pups. The relief (on both sides) is immense.
